Thrilling surprises and unexpected returns create much about the two events: the 30-man and 30-woman Royal Rumble matches. Fans make guesses about who among the wrestlers will enter the arena.

Given the many top talents featured in AEW, the speculations are rife that some of the stars may shock everyone by appearing at WWE Royal Rumble 2025. Here are five AEW superstars who might be a part of the event.

5. Wardlow: The Powerhouse Surprise

Three-time TNT Champion Wardlow has been off of AEW television since a loss to Samoa Joe on Dynamite: Big Business. With all of the rumors swirling about his future, this man could be one of the biggest contenders for a WWE appearance at Royal Rumble.

His strong looks and moves will be great opportunities for thrilling bouts against WWE’s top heavyweights. An unannounced entrant in Rumble could actually lead to the WWE debut.

4. Britt Baker: A New Era in Women’s Wrestling

While she was AEW’s first significant female star, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., has been utilized far too little of late. Her contract situation is unclear, so WWE might take advantage of her star power.

An immediate entry into the women’s Royal Rumble would set up dream matches immediately. If Baker is one of those entrants, it would indicate a huge change in the women’s division.

3. Rey Fenix: A High-Flying Sensation

With Penta El Zero Miedo shocking the WWE world by making his debut on Monday Night Raw via Netflix, the door is wide open for Rey Fenix to possibly follow. His high-flying, lucha-libre style would be a spectacle in the WWE Royal Rumble match. A reunion of The Lucha Bros could lead to an invasion of the WWE tag team division.

Ricky Starks has not been shown on AEW television for a while now. With great mic skills, charisma, and in-ring ability, he would do so well in WWE.

If Starks comes to the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble, he can have immediate rivalries with Cody Rhodes or LA Knight, and even CM Punk. His coming may mean the beginning of a massive push in WWE.

Arguably the biggest name who could return at WWE Royal Rumble 2025 is Bryan Danielson, formerly known as Daniel Bryan in WWE. Having postponed retirement and having dominated AEW’s Death Riders storyline, he may be geared up for a final WWE shot.

It would be a surprise entry, giving him dream matches against Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Gunther. He will make one of the loudest pops in Royal Rumble history!

Although WWE and AEW are competitors, wrestling is unpredictable, and shocking crossovers aren’t impossible. With the expiration of some AEW contracts and WWE wanting to deliver some surprises, we might see some unexpected faces at the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble.
