Who Is Raj Angad Bawa? Youngster replaces Rohit Sharma in The 16th Match Against LSG

All-rounder Raj Angad Bawa made his IPL 2025 debut for the Mumbai Indians against the Lucknow Super Giants on Friday at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Bawa rose to prominence after being a member of the successful Indian squad that won the Under-19 World Cup in 2022. The right-arm bowler took five wickets against England in the final and was named Player of the Match.

Who Is Raj Angad Bawa?

The 22-year-old all-rounder has played 11 First-Class and List A games in his short career, as well as 20 T20 matches, hitting one First-Class century and grabbing two four-wicket hauls in List A cricket.

Bawa made his IPL debut in 2022 for the Punjab Kings, appearing in two games.

He first rose to prominence during the U19 World Cup 2022, when he played a game-winning inning in the final against Australia. In the game, he took five wickets and scored 35 runs, helping India win their sixth U19 World Cup. He is the first Indian to have taken five wickets in an ICC final.

He made his IPL debut with the Punjab Kings in 2022 and was a member of their team in 2023, but did not play any matches. He was selected by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 super auction for INR 30 lakh.
