WCL 2025 will feature a total of 18 T20 matches at renowned locations such as Edgbaston, Headingley, Northampton, and Leicester, culminating in the final on August 2. Officially supported by the ECB, this event will see the legends take to the field again in their national colors.

The greatest headline entering into this year’s competition is the return of AB de Villiers. The South African great – nicknamed ‘Mr. 360’ for his unorthodox range of shots, will captain the South Africa Champions side.

It marks a long-awaited comeback for one of crickets most beloved players. India will be led by Yuvraj Singh – who took the squad to the WCL triumph last year.

India overcame Pakistan in the final and shocked Australia in the semi-final after squeezing into the knockout stages in the first season. In 2025, Yuvraj’s team will aim to win all the way again.

They will be joined on the captaincy roster by some of the most recognizable figures in contemporary cricket, including Shahid Afridi (Pakistan), Brett Lee (Australia), Eoin Morgan (England), and Chris Gayle (West Indies).

What is the format of the World Championship of Legends 2025?

The WCL 2025 will showcase six iconic teams: India Champions, Pakistan Champions, Australia Champions, England Champions, South Africa Champions, and West Indies Champions. Each team will compete in a round-robin format throughout the league stage.

The top four teams at the end of the league phase will progress to the semi-finals. The victors of the semi-finals will face off in the grand finale on August 2, taking place at Edgbaston.
