Mumbai Indians, struggling with 4 defeats in 5 matches, faced an unbeaten Delhi Capitals in the 29th match of the IPL 2025 season. Hardik Pandya lost the toss and was compelled to bat first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

But opener Rohit Sharma, who is currently in a serious slump, faced another failure and his family was not pleased with him at all.

Rohit Sharma’s Failure Leaves Ritika Heartbroken

MI openers, Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton got off to a good start in the powerplay as they scored 45 runs in 4 overs. But Rohit, who was on 18, squandered the chance to score a big one.
DC’s young gun Vipraj Nigam, as cool as a cucumber, caught Rohit with a nasty delivery that seemed in with the pace. Rohit, attempting an exotic sweep, missed it altogether, and it hit him low on the back leg.

The on-field umpire remained unmoved at first, but a sure review by the bowling team changed the situation. Ball-tracking indicated all three reds and a clean dismissal was the result. Rohit returned for 18 off 12 balls, with two boundaries and a six, but again couldn’t capitalize on his start.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, was heartbroken in the stands. Her ashen face mirrored how devastated she was to witness another failure by her partner.

Rohit is also experiencing a severe slump with only 74 runs in 6 matches to his name till now. His failures have cost MI heavily in terms of losing the games because they could manage to win only 1 of the last 5 games.

In the meanwhile, after the ex-captain left the field, Kuldeep Yadav mopped up Rickelton to leave MI at 2 wickets down with 75 runs on the board.
