RCB WPL 2026 Retention List

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have made their intentions clear before the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 Mega Auction: they’re here to continue their success. After winning their first WPL trophy in 2024, the franchise has chosen to retain its core players, captain Smriti Mandhana, all-round legend Ellyse Perry and explosive wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh.

By keeping these household names, RCB has been able to confirm its leadership and batting cornerstones heading into 2026. Let’s break down the RCB WPL 2026 Retention List, the major roster decisions that were made leading up to the event, and what this means for their title chances.

When you think of women’s cricket, Ellyse Perry is a big name. This Australian player is key to RCB’s wins because she’s great at batting and bowling. Plus, she leads with a cool head and always acts like a pro.

RCB really changed under Smriti Mandhana’s leadership. As captain, she showed everyone how it’s done, both with her strategies and by scoring runs at the start of the innings. She really set the standard for RCB’s great performance in the 2024 WPL.

Richa Ghosh, one of India’s most thrilling young players, is now known as someone who can change a game for RCB. This powerful wicketkeeper-batter played a big part in RCB’s 2024 WPL season. She was one of the team’s best scorers.

Good news for RCB: Shreyanka Patil is back after missing the 2025 season because of an injury. This young spinner won the Purple Cap in 2024, proving she can handle the pressure.

Although the essentials have been kept, RCB has decided to part ways with some players. The franchise has let go of 14 players, among them Indian side’s World Cup-winning squad key names Renuka Singh and Sneh Rana.

Renuka, who has been the face of RCB at least from the inaugural season, was surprisingly dropped as the team looks to revamp its pace department. On the other hand, Sneh Rana, who got the opportunity to shine as an injury replacement in 2025, will also be out of the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌franchise.
