Punjab Kings Sign Former RCB Star As a Replacement Ahead of IPL 2025
IPL 2025: Kiwi superstar replaces his fellow countryman Lockie Ferguson, who pulled his hamstring during a league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Uppal last month.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) have retained 6ft 8in Kiwi sensation Kyle Jamieson as a replacement for his fellow countryman Lockie Ferguson for the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.
A one-week suspension following the India-Pakistan military clash will end on May 17 when IPL will return with a tantalizing battle between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Punjab, however, will be back in action on May 18, Sunday, to take on the Royals in Jaipur. Prior to the confrontation against the Royals who have been out of the race for the play-offs, Jamieson will arrive at PBKS’ fold.
Ferguson was sidelined injured after tearing his hamstring in the league game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Uppal last month. Ferguson left the field after injuring his left hamstring during bowling in the away match against Hyderabad.
Ferguson was earlier ordered out of the tournament for an indefinite period, but going by the recent update, he will be out of action for the rest of the campaign.
The Kiwi pacer snared five wickets in three matches at an economy of 9.16 this season.
Ferguson was purchased by PBKS at the IPL 2025 mega auction last year for Rs 2 crore. The tearaway pacer was let go by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) prior to the 2025 IPL auction.
