Is there a reserve day for the Champions Trophy 2025 semifinals?

Is there a reserve day for the Champions Trophy 2025 semifinals?

Three Champions Trophy group matches, Pakistan vs Bangladesh, Australia vs South Africa, and Afghanistan vs Australia, were called off owing to rain. With only a few group-stage games remaining, the emphasis moves to the vital knockout matchups, beginning with the semi-finals and progressing to the final.

One semi-final will be staged in Dubai, where rain has not affected any matches, while the second semi-final is slated for Lahore, where rain is still a problem. Although rain only interrupted the Rawalpindi matches, fans are already wondering what would happen if weather disrupted the semi-finals or final.

The regulation for group matches indicates that if a match is washed out, both teams earn one point apiece, with no reserve day. This indicates that every attempt will be made to finish the game on the designated day, with a minimum of 20 overs necessary for a result. However, when it comes to knockout matches, there is a significant difference in reserve day.

Do the Champions Trophy 2025 semifinals have a reserve day?

A reserve day has been set for both the semi-finals and the final, allowing the match to be played the following day if necessary.

Semi-final 1 is set for March 4th in Dubai, and if play is interrupted by weather, March 5th will serve as the reserve day. Similarly, Semi-final 2, scheduled for March 5th, will have March 6th as a backup date in the event of any problems.

In the event that the major Champions Trophy final is held on March 9th, the 10th will function as a reserve day.
