Indian Legend Mock MS Dhoni After CSK lose Against RCB
Following their loss to RCB, renowned Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag criticized MS Dhoni and CSK for the former’s batting stance. The ex-CSK skipper surprised everyone by walking out to bat at number 9, just as RCB was closing in on a big win. Despite his 30-run cameo, Patidar and his team thrashed CSK by 50 runs in Chepauk.
Sehwag and Manoj Tiwary criticize MS Dhoni for batting at no.9
Speaking to Cricbuzz, Sehwag commented sarcastically that Dhoni generally came out to bat in the 19th or 20th over, not the 16th. He said that the squad had previously determined that MSD would only play a specific number of deliveries and that he was following through.
“Jaldi aa gaye (He arrived early). When he arrived, it was the sixteenth over. He normally arrives around the 19th or 20th. Either he arrived early or the CSK batsmen lost their wickets too quickly. The squad would have determined that Dhoni would only play a certain number of deliveries. “It wasn’t surprising,” Sehwag explained.
“This is beyond my comprehension. With 30 runs off 16 pitches and a strike rate of 190, which is greater than all other hitters, he should have come in early to preserve the game. But he sat there, wondering. No one on the coaching staff can ever advise Dhoni to bat higher up the order. Tiwary stated that
With his 30-run cameo, Dhoni surpassed Suresh Raina as CSK’s highest run-getter in the IPL. A classic MSD turned back the time, scoring 30 with a strike rate of 187.50 in an innings that included three fours and two sixes.
Manoj Tiwary, Sehwag’s co-panelist, remarked that Dhoni’s batting in the lower order was beyond his understanding. He said that none of CSK’s coaches had the courage to ask Dhoni to bat up the order.
