The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, so far hosted across Pakistan and Dubai, has been nothing short of a spectacle. It has lived up to its promise, as batting-friendly pitches have helped teams post ginormous scores. Until now, a century has been scored in every match played; it surely underlines how much of an upper hand the batsmen had.

But not everyone has been able to cash in on batting. Pakistan and Bangladesh have struggled in their middle overs this tournament by being unable to rotate the strike sufficiently to register respectable totals.

Rachin Ravindra – 112 vs Bangladesh, Rawalpindi

New Zealand’s young sensation Rachin Ravindra made his Champions Trophy debut with a match-winning century against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.

Chasing 247, he anchored New Zealand’s innings with his brilliant knock of 112 from 105 balls, making 12 fours and a six. He built a match-winning stand together with Tom Latham during the fourth wicket, putting on 129 runs which ensured New Zealand chased down the target comfortably.

Match Result: New Zealand won by five wickets.

Tom Latham – 118 vs Pakistan, Karachi*

Tom Latham, the most consistent captain in all formats, scored big against Pakistan in Karachi.

At No. 5, he played an innings of 118 off 104 balls*, in a soothing yet aggressive sort of way, hitting 10 fours and 3 sixes. After New Zealand’s middle order collapsed, he brought stability to the innings with a 119-run partnership with Will Young, helping his team to a competent score of 320/5.

He helped bag the award for Player of the Match in this game that was won by New Zealand by 60 runs.

Josh Inglis – 120 vs England, Lahore

Josh Inglis of Australia stole the show with an impressive 120 not out in a group-stage match against England, which was played in Lahore under pressure. Chasing 351 runs, Australia was in trouble, posted 144 for four, after having lost Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne quite early in the innings to the English attack.

But Inglis withstood the pressure with great support from Alex Carey and guided Australia to a dramatic five-wicket win. His match-winning offering saw eight fours and six towering sixes and earned Josh Inglis the Player of the Match award.

Ben Duckett – 165 vs Australia, Lahore

England’s Ben Duckett was in sublime touch against arch-rivals Australia during their Group B encounter in Lahore.

Coming into the tournament after a strong performance in the ODI series against India, Duckett showed his full range of strokes, brilliantly hitting 165 runs off 143 balls, with 17 fours and 3 sixes, to take England to a total of 351.

Despite Duckett’s brilliance, however, Australia chased the score comfortably, handing England a loss.

Ibrahim Zadran – 177 vs England, Lahore

Ibrahim Zadran, Afghanistan’s bright star, made history by scoring a sensational 177 runs against England in Lahore. While Afghanistan had no option but to win, it found itself in deep trouble, placed at 37 for 3. But Zadran showed remarkable courage and technique to stitch important partnerships of 103 with Hashmatullah Shahidi and 111 with Mohammad Nabi.

This innings took Afghanistan to 325 for 7, which is currently the highest score of an individual in ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
