FIFA announced 12 locations for the Club World Cup 2025 matches on September 28, 2024. Out of the 12 stadiums, five will be utilized in the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

In contrast to earlier versions of the FIFA Club World Cup that included solely the champions of continental club tournaments, the 2025 edition will introduce a broader format.

Thirty-two squads will be allocated into eight groups of four, and the leading two teams from each group advance to the knockout phase.

The knockout phase will consist of three rounds – round of 16, quarter-finals, and semi-finals, ending with the final match. A third-place match will not take place.

FIFA announced the broadcast deal with DAZN on December 4, 2024 and FIFA president Gianni Infantino is pleased with the agreement. “From the outset, FIFA wanted to have the best 32 clubs in the world competing in a merit-based, inclusive tournament to crown the only official ‘FIFA world club champion’,” said Infantino.
