Cristiano Ronaldo Leaving Al Nassr, Which Club he Will Join?

Cristiano Ronaldo sparked suspicion about his future by sending a cryptic message on social media following the end of his Saudi Pro League season with Al-Nassr.

The 40-year-old striker, who joined Al-Nassr in 2022, posted a photo of himself wearing the club’s uniform with the caption: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr will end this summer, on June 30. Despite his outstanding 25 league goals this season, Al-Nassr finished third and did not qualify for the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup.

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Ronaldo has 25 goals in 30 Saudi Pro League games this season, with Al Nassr now fourth in the standings.

Ronaldo has scored goals wherever he has gone, but the Saudi club has only won the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023, despite the striker’s 99 goals in 111 outings since arriving.

Which Club Cristiano Ronaldo Will Join

Rumours have circulated that Brazilian club Botafogo may be attempting to bring Ronaldo to South America before the Club World Cup, after he reversed his decision to stay at Al-Nassr.

When asked about the club’s rumoured interest, Botafogo coach Renato Paiva stated during a news conference:  “Christmas is only in December … But if he came, you can’t say no to a star like that.

“I don’t know anything. I’m just answering the question. But, as I said, coaches always want the best. Ronaldo, even at his age, is still a goal-scoring machine. In a team that creates chance after chance, he would be good.”

While another story over the weekend stated that former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos, who currently plays for Liga MX club Monterrey, is ‘close to enticing Cristiano Ronaldo to sign for Rayados’.

According to the rumour, Ronaldo wants to participate in the Club World Cup, which begins in mid-June, and this will be “the biggest bombshell in the history of Liga MX.”

And now Ronaldo has hinted that he is quitting Al-Nassr, declaring “the chapter is over” without providing any explanation.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner posted on X: “This chapter is ended. What’s the story? Still being written. Grateful to everyone.”

FIFA president Gianni Infantino told IShowSpeed over the weekend that he believes Ronaldo might play in the Club World Cup.

As the football world awaits Ronaldo’s next move, his most recent statement suggests that, despite his time at Al-Nassr is coming to an end, his storied career is far from over. Who knows where he’ll wind up right now.
