Brock Lesnar Returns Stuns WWE Universe at SummerSlam 2025

SummerSlam 2025 provided one of the most memorable moments in WWE history, as Brock Lesnar returns stunned the world just moments after John Cena’s emotional farewell match against Cody Rhodes.

The WWE Universe erupted, and “The Beast Incarnate” was storming down the ramp just as Cena was taking in the love and admiration from the fans in his final SummerSlam appearance.

Cena’s Last SummerSlam Ends with Respect and a Big Surprise

After an amazing fight, Cody Rhodes won against John Cena in what was supposed to be Cena’s last SummerSlam match. Rhodes showed respect by raising Cena’s hand, and Cena took a moment to thank the fans, really taking in their support.

Just as Cena was leaving, the lights went out, and suddenly, Brock Lesnar’s music started playing!

The crowd was shocked, and you could hear Michael Cole yelling in excitement shouted, “HOLY SH*T!” live on air. Cena turned around to see Lesnar, someone he’s had some pretty memorable matches with before.

Triple H Reacts on Brock Lesnar Returns

In a post-show interview, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque gave his immediate reaction to Brock Lesnar returns.

“I think as you’re doing this, you have a finite number of dates for John Cena—a finite number of big matches, big moments, and incredible things you want to do—and you want to get to the majority of them,” said Triple H.

Cena’s Wishlist: Could Lesnar Be His Final Rival?

He also added, “You can’t get to every single one of them, you can’t get to everything. But as I said in the beginning, for me, this is John Cena’s wishlist. It’s him writing the last chapter of his book.

“I know what that’s like as a performer. I know what that’s like for everybody to feel that. And I think for John to be able to do what he wants to do—So it’s one of the first things I said to him: ‘Who do you want? Who do you want, and how?’ We’re working through that.”
