Barcelona Eye Rafael Leao Transfer After Nico Williams Snub
Barcelona’s unsuccessful attempt to acquire Nico Williams has prompted them to search for a market alternative. Although a lot view Luis Diaz as the perfect option, Barcelona has also been associated with a transfer for AC Milan star Rafael Leao.
The Portuguese international has consistently excelled in Serie A throughout the years. However, after numerous years at Milan, it might be the right moment to transition elsewhere. Barcelona, along with several other elite European clubs, are keen on acquiring Leao’s services. However, AC Milan won’t simplify matters.
AC Milan is seeking €85 million for Rafael Leao
A new report from Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Wett Freunde) provides an updated view on Rafael Leao’s future, stating that Milan is not very eager to sell the Portuguese international.
This is logical given that Leao has been a valuable player for the club, contributing to 132 goals in 260 competitive appearances.
The report also mentions that Milan anticipates Barcelona or Bayern Munich to pursue the player.
However, the Rossoneri are unlikely to change their position unless any of the interested parties present an offer close to €85 million.
This is quite a number, particularly regarding Barcelona, who are unable to assure Leao a certain registration prior to the league season kickoff.
Consequently, the Catalans might have no choice but to explore different options. Luis Diaz, for example, is open to joining Barcelona without any conditions.
Nevertheless, Liverpool seems reluctant to let go of the Colombian international, although investing in Florian Wirtz might compel them to think about a transfer.
Barcelona must, therefore, be patient as they pursue a new winger who can enhance the club’s attacking lineup for the next season.
