Bangladesh Asia Cup 2025 Squad Announce – Surprise Returns & Big Absentees

Bangladesh Asia Cup 2025 Squad

Litton Das is set to captain Bangladesh in the next Asia Cup in 2025. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) just announced the 16 players who will be on the squad. Before the Asia Cup, Bangladesh will play a three-game T20 series against the Netherlands, kicking off on August 30 in Sylhet.

Naming this squad is a big deal for Bangladesh as they get ready for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026. Litton Das is still the captain, and he has already led the team to some great series victories against Sri Lanka and Pakistan earlier this year.

Quazi Nurul Hasan Returns for Bangladesh Asia Cup 2025 Squad

One of the bigger highlights has to be the return of Quazi Nurul Hasan Sohan, who earned a recall to the squad for the first time in nearly three years. The wicketkeeper-batter last represented Bangladesh in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

Sohan adds some depth to the batting unit and Counsell’s squad has a wicketkeeper with experience for the high-profile Asia Cup contests.

Group Placement in Asia Cup 2025

Bangladesh has been drawn in Group B, alongside:

  • Afghanistan
  • Hong Kong
  • Sri Lanka

With only the top teams progressing, every match will be crucial as Bangladesh aims to go deep into the tournament.

Key Players to Watch

  • Litton Das (Captain): He’s both the captain and the key batter for Bangladesh.
  • Mustafizur Rahman & Taskin Ahmed: These are the experienced fast bowlers who are likely to lead the bowling.
  • Quazi Nurul Hasan Sohan: He’s back to make the middle order stronger and to keep wicket.

One surprise is that Mehidy Hasan Miraz didn’t make the team this time, even though he played in the series win against Pakistan.

The Bangladesh Asia Cup 2025 Squad is going to be a big test for Bangladesh before the 2026 T20 World Cup. With Litton Das as captain, and a mix of new and veteran players, fans will be watching to see if this team can play well consistently when it matters.
