Ashwin Silences MS Dhoni Talk In Live Broadcast After CSK YouTube Drama
Ashwin interrupted a panellist from discussing MS Dhoni on his YouTube channel. This is just days after Ashwin made it clear that he will not be reporting on CSK’s matches on his YouTube channel.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner R Ashwin shut down panelists from discussing MS Dhoni on his YouTube channel. To the unversed, Ashwin revealed that his YouTube channel won’t be discussing CSK‘s games after an enormous controversy raged during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
In his recent YouTube video, Ravi spoke of a couple of matches of IPL but not the matches of CSK. Suddenly, in some moment, there was a switch in discussion on MS Dhoni, but Ashwin requested the panelist to avoid speaking on the former-CSK captain.
What Ashwin Said About Last Match
“I’m so happy that you won the match. Ravi, the only thing is that you’ve led the team a lot. The team that you’ve led has won the TNPL. What I feel is that leadership is very, very important. That leader is someone like Sanju, someone like Shreyas Iyer, someone like Thala Dhoni,” the panellist said.
To this, Ashwin said, “Sshhh. Ssshhhh.” The panellist then reminded Ashwin that he can’t talk about Dhoni and CSK on his channel, but he could as an audience member.
The controversy began when panelists debated CSK’s games on Ashwin’s YouTube channel. In one of the shows, South Africa and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) analyst Prasanna Agoram raised an eyebrow over CSK’s inclusion of Noor Ahmed even though they had Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin.
When CSK coach Stephen Fleming was questioned whether the debate had any effect in the dressing room, Fleming replied he wasn’t even aware that Ashwin has a YouTube channel. “I have no idea. I didn’t even know he had a channel, so I don’t know that stuff. That’s irrelevant,” Fleming said.
Subsequently, Ashwin has confirmed that he will not be reporting CSK’s IPL 2025 matches on his YouTube channel.
“Considering the nature of the discussions on this platform in the past week, we would like to be sensitive to how things get interpreted and have decided to withdraw from reporting CSK games, previews and reviews, for the remainder of this season,” Ravichandran wrote in a statement.
“The opinions of our guests are not those of Ashwin. We thank all who contribute thoughtfully to the ethos of the show,” it further stated.
