Ansu Fati is Just a Sign Away from Joining His New Club

Ansu Fati’s New Update: Barcelona’s 22-year-old Ansu Fati is set to join AS Monaco on loan, per a report by Fabrizio Romano. The Italian reporter has learned that there were issues with the transfer that occurred over the weekend, but they have now been ironed out.

In a season full of joy on every level, Barça’s big disappointment has a name: Ansu Fati. The great hope of La Masia has played only testimonial minutes under Hansi Flick, who has not put his faith in the academy product. The “10” was even likened to Messi after his debut in the first team at 16 years of age, but this year he has not impressed anyone.

Neither Flick, nor Deco, nor Joan Laporta think Ansu Fati can regain the highest level he displayed before. The forward will again leave on loan in pursuit of new challenges in order to gain confidence as a footballer. Having had some unsuccessful loans, Ansu Fati is saying goodbye to Camp Nou in the near future.

Fati, who has struggled for playing time at Barcelona in recent seasons, can become Principality club’s next signing. The Ligue 1 outfit are once again in advanced negotiations to sign the playmaker. The final formalities must be done before he joins on an initial loan transfer, with an option to make the move permanent for €12m. Romano further notes that the deal has a “huge” sell-on clause as part of it to bring Fati to the Stade Louis II.

Ansu has had numerous and varied proposals to depart Barça. He turned down a number of those in La Liga like Sevilla’s and Porto’s likewise. Sporting Lisbon approached him too, but Ansu again expressed that he didn’t want to go to Portugal. Ansu has struggled to reverse the fortunes of Barça, but the few minutes he has gotten have ended up damned him.

Other Middle East Offers for Ansu Fati

The La Masia youngster also had proposals coming in from nations such as Saudi Arabia or Qatar, but the answer was always negative; he turned them down. Ansu was out of options, but then he got the call he had been hoping for. Monaco wishes to make a bet on his rehabilitation and is negotiating his signing with Barça.

The player has agreed to go on loan to France’s Ligue 1. The loan terms have already been agreed between Barça and Monaco: how much of his salary will Monaco pay and the buy option figure near €20M. Now the only matter left is to settle the buy-back price. So far, there doesn’t appear to be a consensus regarding this matter and negotiations may prolong for a few more days.

The Monaco option was the choice Ansu made after speaking with his agent Jorge Mendes. Barça would have rather had a permanent transfer, but they settle for the loan with an option to buy. Barça always wants to have a buy-back clause on their players in case they turn out to be successful or possess a high level.
