After an absence of 10 years, AJ Lee wowed the crowd in her first in-ring appearance at the inagural Wrestlepalooza premium live event in WWE history, this past Saturday night. AJ teamed with her husband CM Punk to face Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in probably the most anticipated match of the evening.

In a moment straight out of a fairytale comeback, AJ Lee earned the victory for the team by applying her finisher, the Black Widow submission on Becky Lynch to secure the win.

AJ Lee Showers WWE Stars with Thanks After Comeback

After her awesome return to the ring, AJ Lee hopped on social media to share how she was feeling and to express her thanks. In a sweet post, she gave props to the people who helped her get back in action.

“A chaotic fairytale so far. I’m proud of myself for being scared but doing it anyway, after ten years of retirement, on one month’s notice. I guess I still got it. I’m so grateful to Rebecca, Colby, Jess, TJ, and my hot husband Phil for taking such good care of me. And Larry for sharing his dressing room. I’m feeling all the love and support from you guys, my wonderful weirdos, it means the world.”

After making her mark as one of the most liked female wrestlers of her time, in 2015, AJ Lee decided to step down from WWE and go into retirement. She was a trendsetter in the women’s division when the chance for women was scarce, being famous for her Black Widow submission, bold promos, and record-breaking Divas Championship reign.

Very little time before the event, news of her return at Wrestlepalooza was leaked, hence, her comeback being one of the largest unexpected at the show.
