According to MyKhel a player representative stated Sanju Samson fell ill with a fever before he needed hospital admission to recover. His supporters felt relief when it turned out to be no injury.

Sanju took the field at Greenfield International Stadium Thiruvananthapuram during the Trivandrum Royals versus Kochi Blue Tigers match as the evening progressed. Despite the fact that Sanju didn’t play a batting role his sibling Saly Samson delivered a rapid 50-run performance that led Kochi to a dominant victory.
