Benjamin Sesko Rejects €90M Newcastle Deal – Wants Manchester United Move
Benjamin Sesko Prefers Manchester United Over Newcastle Amid €90M Offer
In one of the most interesting twists of the 2025 summer transfer window, RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is poised to join Manchester United, even though Newcastle United has their €90M offer accepted for the 22-year-old Slovenian forward.
Florian Plettenberg is reporting that new talks between Manchester United and RB Leipzig will take place Thursday morning, with the Red Devils ready to match Newcastle’s bid and complete the deal.
Newcastle Had the Upper Hand – But Things Changed Quickly
Initially, it looked like Newcastle United was going to get that great forward at first. They made an initial offer of €75 million, plus another €5 million if certain goals were reached, but Leipzig turned it down. Newcastle came back fast with a better offer of €90 million, bonuses included, and this time Leipzig said yes.

But even though Leipzig accepted Newcastle’s offer, Sesko seems to really want to go to Manchester United, which is making things complicated.
Why Does Benjamin Sesko Prefer Manchester United?
Numerous outlets are reporting that Benjamin Sesko considers Manchester United the best team for his long-term development in the future, and that Amorim’s presence as head coach and a guaranteed prominent attacking position at United played a role in him choosing the Red Devils.
While Manchester United finished 15th last year in the Premier League, it’s still the club’s stature, global appeal and long-term project that appeal to the top talents like Sesko.
“Sesko has informed his teammates that he is leaving RB Leipzig,” reports Plettenberg, “and Manchester United are ready to match Newcastle’s bid.”
The key talk set for Thursday between Manchester United and Leipzig is seen as big. United looks to meet Newcastle’s €90M deal, with Leipzig ready to close the sale fast.
Since Sesko has told his Leipzig mates that he’s leaving, we might hear the news of his move soon, maybe even before the weekend starts.
What Sesko Could Offer Manchester United
Benjamin Sesko is a striker who’s tall, quick, and skilled with the ball. He’s good at holding the ball up, strong in the air, and knows how to finish. Even though he’s only 22, people are already talking about him as one of the best young strikers in Europe.
Last season, he scored 17 goals. He could be just what United needs – a lively center-forward who would fit well into Amorim’s plans.
