Yashasvi Jaiswal becomes first cricketer in Test history to achieve unique feat with century

Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first cricketer in Test history to achieve an exceptional achievement with a century against England.

In the fifth Test against England at The Oval, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his sixth Test century. The 23-year-old faced some tough times, especially after his partner KL Rahul and then Sai Sudharsan were out early.

But he handled the pressure and kept the score moving at a fast rate. After Sudharsan left, scoring 11 runs near the end of Day 2, India sent in Akash Deep as a nightwatchman, and he ended up scoring a half-century on Day 3.

Akash played well and took some of the pressure off Jaiswal, who then finished his century soon after lunch. This also helped him set a record in Test cricket.

It’s worth pointing out that 82 of Jaiswal’s 100 runs were made behind the square this time, which is the most a player has ever done when reaching their hundred. Out of the 1,526 centuries recorded in Test history, no one had ever scored 82 or more runs in that area on their way to their hundred.

Can Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Century help India to Win the Match at Oval?

Thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s hundred and Akash’s fifty, India now lead by more than 200 runs on Day 3 of the fifth Test. The team is down 2-1 in the match set and really need a win to tie it up. They plan to keep hitting and aim for a goal of at least 350 runs. It will not be simple, as England wants to fight back, but with Chris Woakes hurt and out, it will be tough for them.

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal will be crucial for India with the bat, and he has been joined by Ravindra Jadeja following Karun Nair’s dismissal. The visitors will also aim to bat long enough to give their bowlers a much-needed respite. It was the same technique they used in the Edgbaston Test.
