Harbhajan Singh gives warning Virat Kohli ahead of IPL 2025
Harbhajan Singh, a former India spinner, has cautioned Rajat Patidar, the new captain of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, about the obstacles he would encounter while managing an IPL club in 2025. Patidar was awarded the captain’s armband when Virat Kohli declined to return as captain.
The 31-year-old has been with RCB since 2021 and scored many runs last season. He scored 395 runs in 15 matches, with a strike rate of 177.13.
Virat Kohli and Patidar’s Role in His Team
“Patidar will be under pressure because RCB has never won an IPL crown. He’ll have to lead the team from the front. Everything at RCB revolves on Virat Kohli, and Patidar will have to ensure that the star batsman has a successful season. RCB has hired him for three seasons, but if he fails in the first year, we’ll see where he stands,” Harbhajan Singh told ESPNcricinfo, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Rajat leads Madhya Pradesh to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final, as well as the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Harbhajan stated that running a franchise is tougher than governing a country.
“He will need to participate in decision-making as well. He will have to choose the playing XI. It is harder than leading India. I am aware of that since I have previously headed an IPL squad,” Harbhajan Singh also stated this.
